Mining for Drug Gold in the PubMed Jungle!

This app was developed using R Shiny, and I enhanced the entire user interface.

Text mining of scientific articles is a great way to find new drug targets by quickly analyzing a lot of biomedical research. By pulling out genes linked to specific diseases, researchers can discover promising targets for new medications. Plus, drugs that are already available for one condition might help with other diseases if they interact with shared genes. This automated process speeds up early drug development and helps repurpose existing drugs for new uses, making it easier to innovate in medicine.

This app uses PubMed articles, applying specific keywords and Medical Subject Headings (MeSH) to focus on relevant topics. It then automatically downloads and processes these articles to find important biological information like genes, proteins, or pathways, offering fresh insights for drug discovery and repurposing.
